Our Story
Two parents, one mission, nurturing bilingual families across South Asia and beyond.
Who We Are
We are Shikha and Divyang, South Asian parents on a mission to nurture multilingual minds and preserve South Asian heritage through beautifully crafted bilingual baby board books.
Our Story
As parents, we faced a challenge finding quality bilingual baby books in Hindi, especially since Shikha speaks but cannot read Hindi script. That gap inspired us to create books written in English script, making them accessible to second-generation immigrant parents like us.
Shikha is an American-born tech professional with a love for cooking and culture. Divyang grew up in India with a passion for history and cricket. Together, they built Unapologetically Desi so their child, and yours, can grow up proud of their heritage.
Our Mission
To nurture multilingual minds and preserve South Asian heritage through beautifully crafted bilingual baby board books. We believe early cultural exposure builds identity and pride, and that every child deserves to see their heritage reflected in the books they love.
Our Values
Cultural Preservation
Celebrating South Asian heritage to help children develop cultural identity and a sense of belonging from the very start.
Inclusivity
Making cultural education accessible and enjoyable for families of all backgrounds, not just those who can read the script.
Quality & Safety
FSC-certified boards, soy-based inks, rounded edges, every detail chosen with little hands and curious minds in mind.
